Spring Bucket List
At the start of every year, C & I sit down to plan out what we want to accomplish that year in terms of work, travel and life in general. This year was no different. Here we are finally in Spring, the flowers have bloomed, our little Miss M is growing like a weed & I thought to myself – why not create a bucket list of things that you want to accomplish this Spring! So here we go…here are the things I want to accomplish this Spring!
Potty train little Miss M – We’ve been working on potty training for a while now. We started at 18 months and for the first few days Little Miss M was IN LOVE with it, then she became afraid and would lose her shit every time we mentioned the word potty. We stopped & started back again at 20 months. So far this week we’ve had several tinkles in the potty and one poop in the potty – HUGE accomplishment. I’m hoping that she’ll get the hang of it soon.
Get the house in ready to sell condition/Put the house on the market/Find a new house in our current city – The house…well the house is drama in itself. We live in an area of high demand/relatively low supply. We haven’t been in our house for an extended period of time, but for the time we have been here, the value has increased tremendously. We’ve been searching for a new place for a while now, but nothing has panned out. Fingers crossed that we find something soon!
Start trying for a second – The thought of trying for a second is daunting, but we feel that Little Miss M both wants and needs a sibling. She LOVES playing with other little kids & she’s so much fun with others although at 20 months old she hasn’t exactly mastered sharing. (Don’t be shocked by this)
Rid myself of all clothes that haven’t been worn in the last 8-10 months – Yeah….just yeah. I have so much stuff ranging from clothes, purses, shoes, socks, swim suits..stuff that hasn’t been worn in ages. I’ve decided to send some things to Swap.com and some stuff will be donated to good causes. But it’s time quite frankly.
Spend more time with my parents – While my parents aren’t old, they’re aging & I can tell. Both my mom and dad have suffered from strokes, mom’s more minor than my dad’s stroke, but a stroke none the less. They’re both doing well, but I need to be there for them more than I have been. It’s hard because we live 2 hours away & life has been hectic with my travel, C’s travel & just general things happening at home. BUT I must do better!
Make a conscious effort to smile – If you know me in real life, you’ll know I’m not a super smiley person. That doesn’t mean I’m not happy, but most of the time I’m just lost in my thoughts. So now! I need to smile more. There’s a lot of good happening in my life and I really should reflect on that.
Train for a race, either a 10K or half marathon – This is nothing new to me, but I need to be more consistent in my running. I actually just ran a 5k on the treadmill so I’m feeling pretty good right now. My last half marathon was thwarted due to the flu and walking pneumonia so I need to find another race to do!
Plan at least one date night a month – C & I are not so good at making time for ourselves. We spend a lot of time with and focused on Little Miss M because really she needs a lot of attention. She’s learning and growing so quickly, we don’t want to miss out on anything. BUT an important part of being married is continuing to foster and work on your marriage. We’re a happy couple, but definitely don’t make enough time for just the two of us. We need to make more of an effort to do so.
