Product Review – Injinji Performance Toe Socks
This morning as I was laying in bed, I said to myself – hey girl stop being lazy & go for a run. It was around 6 AM and for some strange reason I had woken up all bright eyed and bushy tailed. Little Miss M and C were still snoozing away so what better time than to run right?
I threw on my gear and sat at my sock drawer staring at my Injinji toe socks. I was on the fence about these, I purchased them when I was at the Rock & Roll NOLA expo & hadn’t put them on yet. I figured why not – I’m going on a short run, what can be so bad.
So here they are in all their glory…Injinji Peppermint Sport Socks*!
The first thing I noticed was how absolutely comfortable they are. I wear a size 11 shoe in women’s so I decided to go with a large. Sometimes I get a little weirded out about something being between my toes, but the separation is such that you honestly can’t tell there’s anything between. Also the ankle banding is quite nice, it’s not tight around my ankle at all, doesn’t ride or slouch down.
So off on my run I went! I am usually a run/walk intervals kind of gal so I went with “what I know.” By mile 1, I had completely forgotten that I had on toe socks. What I did notice though is that my feet felt cooler, almost as if there was quite a bit of breathability in both my shoes and socks. I notice that with regular cotton running socks, my feet sweat tremendously when I run (oh so sexy), but I didn’t feel that in the Injinji. By the end of the run, I was convinced that these socks were a much better fit for someone like me who sweats like crazy. As soon as I got into the garage, I took my shoes off to see how much my feet sweat (usually they leave a wet mark on the concrete) & the sweat mark was minimal. There were no areas of my toes that felt tender to the touch, not even around my toe nails.
I purchased two pairs of these socks at the expo and I plan to try them out on a long run just to see if I get the same result. So far I’m sold though, I like them. They’re super comfortable & were great on my short 3.5 mile run.
What are your favorite running socks?
